Shakespeare Distillery debuts citrus gin

English spirits producer the Shakespeare Distillery has created a citrus-forward gin for summer.

The distillery’s Kaffir Lime & Orange Gin is available in three bottle sizes: 500ml, 200ml and 50ml. Botanicals used to make the gin include kaffir lime leaves, lime peel, orange peel and lemon thyme, as well as ginger, almonds and black peppercorns. Simon Picken, director at the Shakespeare Distillery, said: “We’re delighted to launch our latest limited edition Citrus Gin and add another Distillery Special to our portfolio of premium, handcrafted products. The Kaffir Lime & Orange Gin is the perfect refreshing drink to sip on a lovely warm summer evening.” Resting at 40% ABV, the gin is recommended served with tonic water and a wedge of lime. The 50ml bottle retails for £6.50 (US$8), while the 200ml format costs £17.50 (US$22), and the 500ml is priced at £34 (US$44). The Shakespeare Distillery was founded in 2015, and is located in Stratford-upon-Avon in England, UK. In October last year, the producer opened its second site – a new rum school and tasting room, called Judith’s. In July 2022, the brand launched a citrus vodka, as part of its limited edition Distillery Special range. In more gin news, Welsh Rugby Union player Sam Davies launched a bottling with Hensol Castle Distillery.
