Scorpion Mezcal is made from 100% agave. Most of their mezcal is double distilled in copper, but they also some some special editions that break from this trend. Their Reposado and Anejo offerings are aged in French Oak. Scorpion has been available in the US since 1996, which dates back to around the same time that Del Maguey began importing to the US as well.
Their slogan is "Worms are for wimps" as each bottle has a scorpion at the bottom. Scorpion is made by distiller Doug French, who learned the trade from 3rd generation mezcalero Don Lupe. Doug also runs the Master Mezcalier program that is held in various cities across the US.
