Sangre De Vida Reposado Mezcal

Sangre de Vida (or "Blood of Life") is a line of tequila and mezcal immediately remarkable owing to the highly stylized skull bottle. Each is hand-painted in designs "drawn from the rich history and culture of Mexico." They say the tequila itself is a style of "estate tequila" in that they grow their on agave on a 3,000 acre field. They are proud to note that each plant has a sugar content of 23-28 "brix" and cooked for 38 hours in traditional brick ovens. The reposado expression arrives in a red skull presentation and bottled after aging between 2 and 11 months in French oak (as opposed to American ex-bourbon barrels as is the case with many tequilas). Also of note is the high bottling proof of 90 (a bit higher than the typical 80). The Sangre de Vida brand was created and managed by Iconic Brands, Inc under the direction of Kim Brandi.
