In a dark and opaque bottle comes a potion from the bleak border, distilled in the Oban Distillery which sits in the shadow of a steep cliff on the frontier between the west Highlands and the Islands of Scotland. The Night's Watch Oban Bay Reserve is rich and wintery with a balanced spicy and woody dryness perfect for those vigils in Castle Black. The ancient rule commands you to read the vow of the Night's Watch, written on the back of the bottle. Be the sword in the darkness and may this Single Malt Scotch Whisky be at your side.
Nose: Gentle fruit, with clear notes of plum, apricot, kiwi, and bubble gum. Aromatic, with nondescript floral notes and just enough tartness to be bright and inviting. Beneath that, clean honey and crisp sweet barley grains.
Palate: Moderate body. Intensely honeyed, with a short tongue burn. The honey is complete with beeswax. Some of the fruits from the aroma are present, along with a layer of very slightly bitter charcoal, a mild vanilla oakiness, and a floor of standard malty cereal.
Finish: Medium-short. Turns nutty quickly, with blanched almonds and toasted walnuts. The fruit runs out right away, and it ends dry but without much bitterness.
