Jean and Adrien Neisson purchased their plantation in Le Carbet in 1922, and the distillery was built nine years later. It is still in the family, thanks to Jean's daughter Claudine, who quit her job as a hospital physician to run it after her father died. Gregory, her son, is now the master distiller. He distills its renowned Agricole rum on the distillery's single-column Savalle still, which was built in 1938.
