From the Abruzzo region of Italy, it is a tradition to mix Sambuca, and Centerba Toro together. The Enrico Toro Casauria Distillery decided that it would only be natural to combine the two in a liqueur, hence the name "Centuca." (Centerba+Sambuca)
The Toro distillery is the tale of a family and a territory, in which it is deeply and historically rooted in traditional liqueurs of the Abruzzo region. The 1817 chemist Beniamino Toro senior, created the Centerba and made it from wild and natural plants surrounding the distillery in Tocco da Casauria.
