The renowned Elmer T. Lee, 1919–2013, who was employed at Buffalo Trace in 1949 by Col. Albert B. Blanton, is honored by having this whiskey bear his name. Previously known as George T. Stagg Distillery
He began from the bottom and advanced to the position of Master Distiller before retiring in 1985. He died in 2013 at the age of 93.
