Burnside Bourbon is a straight bourbon whiskey bottled at 96 proof - giving it a bit more kick than many of the other bourbons on the market. A four-year-old bourbon from Eastside Distilling of Portland.
Nose: Robust oak, pine and smokey coals. Once aerated, notes of fruitcake, apricot and caramel.
Flavor: Enters unflinchingly at 92 proof and undergoes a metamorphosis on the palate from peppery wood and bitter chocolate to tobacco, plums and vanilla. Drink this rich bourbon on a large rock and watch the raindrops fall from trees.
